We are very fortunate to have Peter involved -- a man whose life is a fascinating story of world travel, academic excellence and dedication to teaching and leading in matters related to the Environment. Maybe Peter and his partner will film their upcoming travels to France to row ~200km on the Canal du Midi and then in August, and in October they fly to Argentina to row a similar distance not far from Buenos Aires. Peter has also rowed in Germany, Italy, Denmark, Finland - and done Ottawa to Kingston.

Why Peter for our next movie Who Killed the Electric Car? Read about his background in his own words:

"When I returned to Canada, after 6 months of looking at the country I once called home, I became an environmentalist. The heedless - even unconscious - waste made me crazy!

I worked as Technical Manager for a small local Chemical Company for 12 years. Since then I have been self-employed as a Consultant Chemist, and also teaching part-time at Laurentian University - Georgian College (Barrie) campus.

I have been a board member of Environmental Action Barrie from the beginning of the group - about 18 years. I am on the board of Canadians for Renewable Energy (CFRE) and also Windcatchers - a local group hoping to build a 2MW wind turbine on Barrie's garbage dump.

Energy is my passion - where it comes from, how we use it,

enrivronmental effects of energy use, emissions abatement, energy efficiency, etc.
I have finally achieved my heart's desire -
the opportunity to teach the subject at University level!

I used to teach Physiology ("blood & guts") in medical schools. I started in Kenya (1968-1972) and then taught in Britain for 16 years with 2 years off for a Zimbabwe sabbatical."

Peter and his wife drove a 14-year old Land Rover from Nairobi to Edinburgh in 1972. In 1973, he built a new diesel engine for it and kept it until 1981 then sold it to a friend in Zimbabwe.
